Meet the maker
I'm Stuart Fine, and I've spent my career building things. As the founder of Remergify, I've launched software ventures in fields as different as live music, construction, education and product authentication. Every one of them started the same way: someone had a real problem, and I couldn't stop thinking about how to fix it.
Craftroom started at home.
My wife is a crafter, and she has more sewing supplies than any one person should be able to own. There are bolts of fabric and bins of fat quarters. There are scraps she swears she'll use "for something," along with thread in every shade and a stash of notions, patterns and half-finished projects. Her collection had grown without any system to keep track of it. She'd buy fabric she already had, dig through three bins to find one spool of thread, and lose projects in the shuffle.
One day she asked me to help her get organized.
I'll be honest: I pictured myself on my hands and knees on the craft room floor, counting scraps of fabric one at a time. So I did what any entrepreneur would do to get out of that job. I built her an app.
I made it simple. She can photograph what she has, tag it, give it a location, and find it again in seconds. She can see her whole stash at a glance, know what she has before she buys more, and keep each project's materials together. It turned a mountain of supplies into an inventory she could use.
It worked so well that I knew other crafters needed it too. Sewists, quilters, knitters, scrapbookers, painters and anyone else whose hobby has spilled out of its drawers could use it. That's how Craftroom.app was born.
Craftroom is built for people who love to make things and would rather spend their time creating than searching. My wife is still our toughest tester. If a feature doesn't make her life easier, it doesn't ship.
Welcome to Craftroom. Let's get your stash organized, and keep everyone off the floor.
